Sri Varadarajar Temple, Padavedu, Tamilnadu, is located 26 km north of Polur, and 40 km south of Vellore.
Built by Chola kings in 12th century, and later expanded by Vijayanagara kings, the Temple lay buried in sand until it was discovered and excavated in recent times.
The Temple is currently being maintained by TVS group.

Padavedu is a calm, serene, scenic place located on the banks of river Kamandala, encircled by Jawadu hills. In ancient times, Rishi Jamadagni and Renukamabal resided here, and it’s the birth place of Sri Parasurama. Padavedu was the capital of Sambuvarayar chieftains. During Chola and Vijayanagara times, Padavedu used to be an important military camp. It’s home to many ancient Temples.
