Sudarshan Setu is India’s longest cable-stayed bridge, connecting the mainland at Okha with Beyt Dwarka island.
Inaugurated on February 25, 2024, the bridge is 2.32 km long and 27 meters wide, with a 900-meter cable-stayed central portion allowing sea-traffic below. The 2 A-shaped curved pylons supporting the central portion are 130 metres tall.
This modern-day marvel features 4-line traffic and 2.5 meter wide footpath on both sides, decorated with panels containing verses from Vishnu Sahasra Nama and Bhagavad Gita.
The solar panels atop the footpath generate 1 MW electricity.
