Shri Champakadhama Swamy Temple, Bannerghatta, Bengaluru, Karnataka, is located 2 km north of Bannerghatta Safari Park.
The Temple is ancient and said to have been established by Pandavas. The current structure was built in 12th century CE by Chola kings, later renovated and expanded by Hoysalas and Vijayanagara kings.
The Temple is replete with carvings, sculpturing and ornamented pillars. The elephants in stone panels on both the sides of the entrance stairs are stunning!
Swarnamukhi Pushkarini, the water from which is said to have healed King Janamejaya – a descendant of Pandavas – is 2 km by walk from here.
Lakshmi Narasimha Temple is located on top of the hill behind the Champakadhama Temple.
